The pool site was in the rear of the residence, at approximately thirty inches above existing grade. We noted that this elevated site and the contemporary nature of the residence was a strong design opportunity for the new pool.

The landscape architects developed a pool plan that embraced the contemporary aspects of the residence as well as incorporated a tropical feel for the space through the use of materials, form, and plantings. The pool design features a raised beam with curvilinear forms that were repeated in the pool deck coatings. The space also included a lower patio to the rear of the pool. This space features a waterfall as a focal point. Tropical plantings including palms, loquats, and grasses which were used to soften the space and to carry out the design intent.
