Washington Parish Landscaping Project Bogalusa Corridor

Dufreche-Perkins and Associates were retained by Washington Parish to assist in the procurement of a DOTD Transportation Grant, to help them fund a beautification project along Hwy-21, extending from the City of Bogalusa approximately six miles south to the Parish Line. Signage was designed to announce passage across the Parish Line, and large-scale planting areas were designed to provide aesthetically simple enjoyment at highway-speeds. Low maintenance was assured by the use of hardy plant materials, and rugged concrete mow-strips and curbing. Stringent DOTD design guidelines and procedures were typical throughout the design process, and were a strong influence on the final outcome.
